Trafficware Raises Technology Bar Adds Parking Detection to ATMS.now Version 2.6 Central Traffic Management System
HOUSTON, January 31, 2017 – Today Trafficware extends its leadership in traffic Central Management Systems with the release of Version 2.6. Six months after delivering the only commercially viable Connected Vehicle ATMS module for 2017 model year vehicles, Trafficware adds even more functionality including a new subscription-based parking detection module, becoming the only traffic management system with this capability.
Across the country, transportation authorities look to better utilize their valuable parking real estate and automate what has previously been a tedious manual job. In fact, parking patrons are coming to expect such services, appreciating the convenience and time savings, avoiding circling a lot looking for open spaces. The new parking detection module, using Trafficware’s patented wireless pod detection system, allows transportation agencies to aggregate this vehicle detection data into their central traffic management command center.

Beyond the parking application, the ATMS.now 2.6 release includes:
- For ease of use, an Edit Categories Selection in the central management software that matches what a technician sees at the street level cabinet intersection controller.
- For power data users, a new CSV Export report will export the entire Local Vol/Occ or Split databases to an Excel or Text file.
- To provide greater ease and descriptive ability in labeling files, special database name labels were added to the editing and view screens.
- Enhanced diagnostics and more than 25 other convenience and performance enhancing additions.
