John Worthington, Trafficware’s Chairman of the Board 

John Worthington has a long tenure of distinguished leadership in the transportation industry, encompassing more than twenty-five years in various executive capacities as well as a long-serving board member of ITS America. Worthington and Trafficware’s equity partners KRG Capital formerly teamed together during the management-led buyout of TransCore from multibillion dollar technology giant Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). During Worthington’s tenure at TransCore, he more than quadrupled the size of the company and created one of the preeminent company’s serving transportation markets. 

Worthington received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan's Top Ranked Stephen M. Ross School of Business and his undergraduate degrees from Eastern Michigan University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  In addition to Trafficware, John has served on the Board for TransCore.

Charles Gwirstman, KRG Capital Co-Founder

Charles Gwirtsman has more than 25 years of experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, buyouts and corporate finance. Gwirtsman has served as a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee since its inception and as a lead Managing Director, Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors for a number of its portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding KRG Capital, Gwirtsman served as a Senior Vice President with Fiduciary Capital Management Company as part of a team managing two mezzanine debt funds. Prior to joining Fiduciary Capital Management, Gwirtsman served as a Corporate Vice President with Paine Webber, Inc. in the Private Finance Group, where he was responsible for advising, structuring and placing debt and equity securities. He also served as an investment banker at E.F. Hutton.

Gwirtsman earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Columbia University.  Mr. Gwirtsman also serves on the Boards of Federal and Fort Dearborn.  Gwirtsman serves as Co-Chairman of Friends of Yemin Orde, which represents Yemin Orde youth village in Israel.

Ted Nark, KRG Capital Managing Director 


Ted Nark joined KRG Capital in 2007 as a Managing Director, and has over 27 years of business experience in mergers and acquisitions, business development, operations, sales and marketing. Nark has served as a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee since 2007, and as a lead Managing Director, Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors for several of its portfolio companies. From 2002 to 2006, Nark was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of White Cap, a former KRG portfolio company. Prior to White Cap, Nark was CEO and Chairman of Corporate Express Australia from 1998 to 2002. Before working in Australia, Nark was Group President and a key member of the management team that developed Corporate Express over a period of six years from a regional distributor of office products to a publicly traded company with a multi-billion dollar market capitalization. Nark serves on the Board of Directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County.

Nark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Washington State University.  In addition to Trafficware, Nark also serves on the Boards of Covergent and ICCNexergy.

Jon Newhard, Trafficware CEO

Jon Newhard joined Trafficware as the Chief Executive Officer in 2013 and is responsible for the success of the company and its customers. Newhard has more than two decades of experience in technology-driven businesses, starting with functional roles at Siebel Systems and SAP. Newhard lead the turn-around of Kaplan Compliance Solutions (a Washington Post Company) and lead two divisions of Michigan-based local government software provider New World Systems before joining Trafficware. 

Newhard earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard University.  Newhard has also served on the Boards of the Maryland-based Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and the Washington, DC-based For Love of Children.  In addition to his business and philanthropic experience, Jon was twice elected to Council in Chevy Chase, MD, where he served as Treasurer.

Bryan Beyer, Former Head of Software Development at Naztec

Bryan Beyer worked at Naztec (now part of Trafficware) from 1992-2012 as the head of Software Development and as a Business Development Executive.  While at Naztec, he was responsible for driving development of Naztec’s software products, where they gained a strong reputation for reliability and innovation.  Beyer was also responsible for business development efforts in the Southeast.  

Beyer earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Baylor University.  In addition to Trafficware, Beyer serves on the Board of Fort Bend Christian Academy.

E. Sue Cho, KRG Capital Principal

E. Sue Cho joined the Firm in 2012 as a Vice President and was promoted to Principal in 2013. Prior to joining KRG Capital, Cho was a Principal with The Wicks Group of Companies, L.L.C., a New York City-based, middle market private equity firm, where she focused on leveraged buyouts of privately-held companies in the business services, marketing services and media industries. Prior to joining The Wicks Group, Cho worked in various capacities at The Walt Disney Company, specifically with ABC, Inc., the ABC Internet Group and ESPN.com. Prior to working at The Walt Disney Company, Cho was with the Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch, where she focused on equity and debt financings and mergers and acquisitions for the diversified media, broadcasting and cable industries. Prior to graduate school, Cho worked in the Media and Telecommunications Group at Chase Manhattan Bank, financing companies in the entertainment and other media industries.

Cho earned a Master of Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Japanese Studies from Wellesley College.

Darren Beyer, Former Chief Technology Officer

Darren Beyer joined Trafficware in 1996 and has been involved in several roles related to product development, from embedded hardware/software, to architecting adaptive signal control algorithms.  Beyer served as the Chief Technology Officer, with primary responsibility of guiding Trafficware’s product development to meet the needs of the customer while maintaining the integrity of its legacy for robust solutions.  

Beyer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Baylor University.  In addition to Trafficware, Beyer serves on the Board for EMT Services, a St. Louis-based company.
