This course covers the Synchro 7 signal timing software used to perform capacity analysis for signalized intersections, the SimTraffic 7 microscopic simulation model and the 3D Viewer. This course uses a combination of lecture and hands-on examples. Each course participant will have a PC workstation with Synchro Studio 7 installed to use with the hands-on class problems and examples.
The purpose of Level I class is to fully describe
the inputs and to focus on the outputs for Synchro and SimTraffic. A basic understanding of
timing terms would be helpful.
The topics covered during the Level I class
include:
- Input Requirements
- Analysis of an Individual Intersection
- Network Analysis and Optimization
- Introduction to SimTraffic and 3D Viewer
- Synchro Time Space and Platoon
Dispersion Diagrams
- Program Reports
- Questions and Answers
The Level II class is intended for individuals with a working
knowledge of Synchro and SimTraffic. Attendance at the Level
I course satisfies this prerequisite for the Level II class.
- Advanced Inputs
- Advanced Timing Examples
- Universal Traffic Data Format (UTDF)
- Optimization and Calculations
- Advanced features of SimTraffic
- Questions and Answers
