Trafficware and Naztec Merge – May 2012
Trafficware and Naztec have merged, forming the preeminent technology-based company in the traffic management segment of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) industry. The merged firms will operate under the Trafficware name from the recently completed Naztec Technology Center, a 90,000 square-foot purpose-built facility located in Sugar Land, Texas. The company will be led by ITS industry veteran, John Worthington, who joined Naztec as its CEO in 2011. KRG Capital Partners has underwritten the transaction and will provide funding for the company’s planned growth initiatives.
“The combination of Trafficware’s distinguished software expertise with Naztec’s hardware design and manufacturing capabilities gives our collective customers the best of both worlds,” related Mr. Worthington. “From front-end modeling and design, to system implementation and control, to ongoing optimization, we have best-in-class solutions,” he continued. “And, with the capabilities we now have under one roof, we will be able to offer fully-integrated, enterprise-wide systems to help our customers better manage North America’s roadways,” Mr. Worthington added.
